The For GrantWriters Only Learning Community builds on the
strengths of current nonprofit , fundraising, and grant writing
resources and takes advantage of currently available web
technologies to connect grant writers working across the U.S. and
around the world.
It brings together the tools of popular online communities such as
LinkedIn, instantaneous chat programs like Skype, forums such as
those serving grant writers and other nonprofit or fundraising
professionals, educational blogs in the field of grant writing, and
professional communities such as the American Association of Grant
Professionals to create an interactive learning network.
Members can join the For GrantWriters Only Learning Community, join
groups related to their geographic location and specialty, and
participate in all member forums at no cost. Ongoing educational
topics are covered in the For GrantWriters Only Blog. Members with
their own grant related blogs are invited to include a link to
their blog on the home page of the Community. Similarly, grant
writers that Twitter can include a link. Any member of the For
GrantWriters Only community can join the LinkedIn group of the same
name to access additional information about their peers, connect
with group members via LinkedIn, list job postings, and include
relevant news items for discussion.
When logged in, members can also chat with other members who are
online.
As the For GrantWriters Only Learning Community develops, it will
also feature links to a wide variety of events for grant
professionals, including podcasts, webinars, and writer
retreats.
The goal of the community is to provide a baseline of knowledge for
those new to the field so that they can serve their organizations
at a higher level sooner and become a vital part of their
organization’s development team. In the end, this means that a
greater number of nonprofits are able to meet the social needs of
the community in which they exist.
This community is hosted by Melanie R. Negrin, owner and managing
director for

and Public Relations. As a professional grant writer and
marketing consultant, Melanie specializes in crafting compelling
marketing and development communications that build community
awareness, brand equity, and financial sustainability for nonprofit
organizations and entrepreneurial business operating across the
United States and in some international countries. Most requested

writing, newsletters, and other marketing and public relations
